Bonnie Carol Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Bonnie Carol 72, passed away peacefully, at her home in Santa Rosa CA, on October 10, 2017. Bonnie was born in New York in August, 1945 to O. Carolyn and John Johnson, Sr. Bonnie has called Sonoma County and Santa Rosa home for over 40 years, and is survived by her brothers Jim and John Jr., sister Jaci; two daughters Aubrie and Jennifer; seven nieces and nephews, great-aunt to eight. During her career, Bonnie worked as a meter maid in San Mateo, a field technician with the Santa Rosa Police Dept, and it was through her work with the city, that she decided to volunteer her time in the chaplaincy program. She was actively involved in the Santa Rosa Center for Spiritual Living beginning in the 1980s and became a spiritual practitioner. Bonnie was a writer, and had a poet's heart. She aspired to create a book of her poetry and continued to write through most of her life. Bonnie was an avid bowler, and sports enthusiast, she was a member of many leagues and teams throughout the years. She enjoyed exercise, and Bonnie could be seen these past few years walking all throughout Santa Rosa, stopping for a coffee at Starbucks, saying hello to neighbors, or having a chat with strangers along her way. She was an artistic crafter, and many of her friends and family have received at least one of her famous crocheted blankets or scarves for holidays and birthdays. Bonnie was loved by many for her patience and kind spirit, she will be dearly missed, and her sweet laughter will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
